Shopping in Italy

Located in Lombardy in Northern Italy, Milan is the country’s financial and fashion capital. It’s a sophisticated metropolis, a city with a forward-looking attitude that never forgets its past glories. Home to designers like Prada, Armani and Versace, Milan’s impressive shopping centers attract nearly as many visitors as the city’s centuries-old cultural institutions. Along with design and finance, fashion is the city's biggest draw. Its influence spreads to the worlds of publishing, dining, partying and commerce, so you'll be hard pressed to avoid it. What's more, people do actually wear the wacky garments you see paraded at the city's twice-yearly fashion weeks: many a Milan street looks like a photo shoot for Italian Vogue.

There are millions of reasons to finally visit Italy when you are on vacation. Legendary old cities with magnificent architecture, desert islands with crystal clean water and secret blue lakes, Florence being a cradle of Renaissance architecture and rich museums, Venice with its romantic flare and gondolas, Roman ruins and marvellous beaches, Greek temples and the world’s largest number of World Heritage Sites, handmade delicious pasta and a great variety of cheese. Oh yes! And, of course, shopping! Italy is the cradle of fashion and style with different types of markets, antique shops, designer outlets, shopping centres, outlet malls and high-end boutiques.
